Out of the total global IT market that comprises of $672 billon, only 1.9% belongs to India. IBM and Accenture have about 7% and 4% of the market respectively, which means there are six or seven multinational companies that have a higher percentage of the market than India has as an entire country.
Infosys has seen a tremendous amount of growth in recent years. They plan to add 14,000 to 15,000 MBAs, and 3000 software engineers within the next five years. Developing new employee competencies while upgrading current employees competencies will be a huge undertaking. The senior leaders are striving to develop well-rounded employees by developing their technical, process, and leadership skills.
The team at Infosys took a collaborative approach to developing their programs, gathering input from everyone, including senior leaders and future participants. Infosys has designed about 30 new certification courses, which take from forty to seventy hours to complete.
