EADS - Recruiting and Developing Engineers

Topics: Partnerships

In today’s job market it can be extremely difficult to find the right people. At EADs the engineering community is the backbone of the company’s success. Out of their 116,000 employees, around 55,000 are engineers or have an engineering degree.

Many of the worlds best students are getting degrees in business, economics or law, leaving a shortage of qualified engineering candidates. To combat this, EADs works closely with colleges and universities world wide, offering programs ranging from internships to PhDs.

EADS found they had to bring many of their engineering graduates “up to speed” when bringing them into the company. In order to reduce the time needed to develop key capabilities and soft skills, EADS developed curriculum with their partner colleges.

Language is becoming increasingly important as EADS becomes more global. The have offices in France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Spain, but the language of business is English. Candidates must also be creative, entrepreneurial and committed to life long learning.
