This checklist is the companion Tool to the CorpU “How To” report entitled Creating a Social Learning Environment: A High-Level Overview of the Steps to Designing, Developing, and Piloting a Social Learning Platform. The “How To” report summarizes the purpose and process of each step, and the Checklist provides the steps and sub-steps necessary to create an SLE. It is important to note that each step in this process is complex enough to warrant separate “How To” reports and Checklists. However, as a high-level overview, this set is designed for the learning leader to ensure that the overarching process is completed and done in the appropriate order.
Use this checklist as an outline for a project plan. As steps are completed, check them off so that you can see at a glance where you are with the project. The project can be tracked on paper by printing out the checklist, electronically by utilizing the Microsoft Word version of the checklist, or the steps can be transferred into your own project management program.

“In my particular case, I certainly care about the HR functions, but that’s not why I wake up every day. I care about advancing the ball down the field with our people’s professional development skills and knowledge. You guys focus 100% on the learning piece, and that’s what I like.”
