PayPal TechJams: Concentrated Collaboration & Innovation Events to Assess & Select Technologies

Description

What do an old blanket, a combination lock, and PayPal have in common? They are all symbols of security. Millions of times a day, people all around the world choose PayPal for its convenience, ease-of-use, and safety. But it goes beyond keeping personal data safe. It extends to being there when customers need them to speed them on their way – whether online or in a store.

This webinar conveys the story of how PayPal’s Technology Education (TechEd) team provided technologists with virtual collaborative team sites and face-to-face “hackathon” style assessments of technologies with peers from domains across the company.  TechJam participants assessed and taught 10 new technologies to their peers, critiqued the technologies for their application at PayPal, and shared these views to the organization.

At this webinar, you will learn details about how PayPal’s 2-day collaborative TechJam experiment was designed, and the result they achieved, including…

  • Reduced technology assessment time
  • Significant monetary savings
  • Lowered risks associated with technology selection
  • Two technologies chosen for adoption
  • Instilling innovation and collaboration as cultural priorities

From this webinar, participants will leave with practical, real-world, award-winning learning technology strategies and tools that can be applied within their own businesses. Please join us!
